  • Pittsburgh Health Data Alliance – Successfully identified multiple high-profile healthcare informatics research projects, built business cases, filed new intellectual property disclosures, and achieved seed grant to validate commercial opportunities that improve quality of patient care and reduce costs
  • MEDIvate – Partnered with leading researcher and clinician from the University of Pittsburgh School of Pharmacy to define initial business opportunity, raise seed grant, and validate concept through consumer and clinical trials of mHealth personalized medication assistant improving consumer drug safety and treatment plan engagement
  • National Energy Technology Laboratory – Established collaborative initiative with federal research laboratory and research teams to translate emerging energy and environmental technologies from the laboratory into market validated products, resulting in a spinout and new corporate partnerships.
  • Anactisis – Completed market analysis and advised Founders on strategic direction to help them define product road map for specialty polymer technology company originating from Carnegie Mellon University Civil and Environmental Engineering researchers. Achieved follow-on grant funding for commercial scale-up and validation of technology.

  • Innovation Works – Completed market and customer analysis, thesis development, and investment execution for over 12 new seed-stage and follow-on investments totaling $10m for regional impact venture investment fund
  • McCormack Baron Salazar – Project manager focused on land acquisition, capital raising, community relationship development, and management of engineering and construction contractors for $100m affordable housing initiative
  • PropelIT – Partnered with Founder to refine business go-to-market strategy and create product planning road map for behavioral analytics software company that improves truck fuel efficiency and driver safety. Reduced up-front capital requirements by over 2x through eliminating hardware requirements. Identified CTO with significant industry background to lead product development.
  • Pyrochem Catalyst Company – Defined the market opportunity for specialty catalytic material technology startup and crafted initial business pitch used to successfully recruit executive team with notable industry background and deep understanding of market dynamics. Raised seed and follow-on venture investment capital, and received SBIR phase I and phase II grants totaling over $1 million to achieve commercial validation of technology. Worked with founders to define key product validation metrics and achieve proof-of-concept trials.
